Smith is currently working on a residency at Grizedale Arts to explore the notion of artist as service provider and role within a given location.
The project explores the history of tourism in the lake district and the nature of community in the context of transient populations.
As part of Lawson Park’s Open Garden 2010 weekend Smith ran a Help stand offering to solve any question or conundrum within the hour.
Following research into contributive models of tourism Smith is now developing a School for Tourists for the Coniston Institute.
