The Land We Live In – The Land We Left Behind was a survey exhibition curated by Adam Sutherland to explore society’s contradictory relationship to the rural. Including works from over 50 international artists the exhibition included posters and mugs from Emma Smith’s ongoing and itinerant project ‘School For Tourists’ which was originally commissioned by Grizedale Arts in 2011 and has since been hosted by Matadero Madrid, Kunstmuseum Luzern, Tate Modern and South London Gallery.
